House Bill 1380 amends Arkansas law regarding alcoholic beverage tasting events. It allows wholesalers or manufacturing representatives to assist retailers in conducting these events. Additionally, the bill reduces the fees for annual sampling permits: from $500 to $250 for single-category licenses (wine, beer, or spirits) and from $1,000 to $500 for combined licenses. The bill also significantly increases the authorized sample sizes allowed for on-premises consumption per customer per day. Specifically, wine servings increase from 1.5 ounces to 6 ounces, beer from 4 ounces to 8 ounces, and spirits from 1 ounce to 2 ounces. The Alcoholic Beverage Control Division retains the authority to promulgate rules to administer these provisions.
