House Bill 1601 requires state-supported institutions of higher education in Arkansas to provide career counseling and career-related resources to students. The bill mandates that the Division of Higher Education maintain a central website link for these resources, which institutions must also feature on their own websites. Institutions are required to inform students about the availability of these resources and how to access them. Additionally, the bill extends access to these career services for up to six months after a student ceases enrollment, provided the student has not yet graduated and has not enrolled in a subsequent institution. The act specifically excludes concurrently enrolled students and those who have transferred to another higher education institution.
