Senate Bill 369 repeals the Computer and Electronic Recycling Fund and the associated grant programs previously administered by the Division of Environmental Quality. The bill also modifies the distribution of revenues generated from the sale of state agency surplus computer and electronic equipment. Under the new provisions, the portion of proceeds previously earmarked for the Computer and Electronic Recycling Fund will instead be redirected to the Marketing and Redistribution Section of the Department of Finance and Administration. Specifically, it increases the revenue allocation percentage for the Marketing and Redistribution Section for both internal agency sales and sales conducted outside of the agency. By repealing the specific fund and grant program, the bill effectively terminates the state-sponsored grant program for electronic recycling initiatives.
